In this ceremony, young women are becoming of age and are being given privileges. Girls were chosen for this honor while undergoing puberty and would be sent to wealthy schools. When this day came in a girls life, she could choose a new name for herself. With this ceremony, the young women will be married or become princesses to rulers. Not just every girl was chosen for this ceremony, only the most beautiful girls that there were would participate. This was a huge event as it occurred so when it happened there would be hoards of people gathered and many festivities taking place. The festivities included dancing, a feast, and hair combing of course.

This was done to preserve to liveliness of the person. Although in today's society cannibalism is a crime and frowned upon, it was a great and treasured event to the Incas in the 1400s.
